National Parks are seeing an influx of visitors in 2010. RV and motor home owners are spending less money on travel and are traveling to destinations nearer to where they live. This is creating an increase in people heading out to national monuments, parks and wilderness areas.

2009 visitation to National Parks fell just 1.8 million visits shy of setting a record for the National Park System. Visitation to the National Parks in 2009 jumped to 285.4 million, an increase of more than 10 million over 2008 levels and within sight of the record 1987 turnout, when 287.2 million headed into the parks, reports National Parks Traveler. Last year, Yosemite National Park had 3,866,970 people visit.

This year, Glacier National Park has already seen an increase of 3.8% in visitation numbers. July and August tend to have the highest numbers of guests to National Parks. If things continue, the record may be beaten. For their part, those visiting in motor homes are helping drive the numbers up. KOAs are reporting an increase of more than 7% across the country compared to last year.

According to USA Today, "If you thought last year was a buyer's market for travelers, just wait: Even as airlines, hotels and other suppliers talk "cautious optimism" for 2010, a recent USA TODAY/Gallup Poll showed only 16% of respondents plan to fly more or stay more often in hotels this year than they did in 2009 - with about 30% saying they'll travel less often.

For families who stick close to home, they often see a savings over vacations that include flying and hotels. They save on gas, on lodging and have increased mobility. Taking vacations with a motor home or RV allows people to help the local economy and discover a little bit about what their neck of the woods has to offer.

Budget Travel is a new term for many since the recession. People are looking to spend less money while still experiencing quality accommodations, such as Park Model cabins and they want to be entertained. RV Parks are offering more and more opportunities for family fun and a well-rounded vacation. Staying at RV Resorts on the way to National Parks sets a great precedent for the incredible experiences yet to come.

In two or three months, there will be a good sense as to whether or not the record for tourism in National Parks might be beat. Until then, head out and enjoy the summer in some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. The parks are a heritage the American people have inherited, so get out and enjoy.

Amazing vacations can happen on a budget. Use what's close to you. National parks don't cost a lot to visit and there is so much to do there. From the landscape to the history, to the art and more, it's a vacation that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Taking Time To Stay Closer To Home

Staycations are still popular despite the waning recession. A staycation is a when a family chooses to take time off and spend it closer to home rather than hop on a plane and travel to some exotic locale. When the recession hit, many Americans looking to save money started planning trips that focused on fuel economy and bargain lodging. RV owners still traveled, but stayed closer to home.

Because new RVs can cost upwards of $100,000.00, the RV industry has been cited as a sign of whether or not the economy is getting back on track. When January 2010 saw sales starting to pick up, the rest of the country heaved a sigh of relief. While all parties are cautiously optimistic, sales have continued to increase and have stayed strong through the summer months. When people start spending money on expensive items such as RV, it's a sign that they feel secure about their finances and about the general state of the economy.

Persuadable Research Group conducted a survey on travelers to see what the trend would be for the summer of 2010. The majority of those interviewed confirmed they would travel by car instead of airplane. As well, those traveling by car were keeping their eye out for discounted rates on hotels and campgrounds. When a group of four or six people travel together by RV, over 60% savings can be realized on an RV staycation over a trip that includes airfare and lodging. Campground reservations have been on the rise since the recession hit and those campgrounds are filling up.

Gas costs for RV staycations work out to a lot less than air travel. Campground reservation numbers have increased over last year and business are thriving. With RV parks offering everything from environmentally features to fishing and kids entertainment, there's not much more a family could ask for.

No matter what your budget, there is an RV to suit you. While Class A RVs are the most expensive with some costing more than $1,000,000.00, there are other less expensive options, such as the Class C RV. Pop-up campers are some of the least expensive means of traveling accommodations on the market.

The less expensive camping options like travel trailers, campers and pop-up tents can be had for hundreds of dollar instead of thousands. They are easy to tow and store. While the interiors aren't as plush as Class A RVs, they are great for families that are only interested in the basics.

After the RV or camper has been paid for, it's all return on the investment. Each trip you take will save you more money. Think of all the cash you can save by not paying expensive airfare or staying at out-of-town hotels. Plus there's more mobility and possibility of changing plans on a whim. With campgrounds so popular, it might be time to book ahead for your reservation.

The beauty of the recession is it forced everyone to realize how incredible the surroundings are close to home. There's a reason RVing maintained its popularity through the recession. RV travel has become the epitome of family values, discovery and adventure.

If you have taken your family on vacation each year, you know that much of the fun can be lost in the way you choose to travel. Staying in hotels can get tiresome as you climb in and out of a vehicle, packing and unpacking. Or even if you stay a week in a hotel, keeping up with belongings and clothes gets old.

Have you considered a house on wheels like the 4 Berth Caravan? It does require a good chunk of money, but it's a great investment. Of course, that only applies if you plan to take it out of the driveway a few times a year, at the very least.

Perhaps purchasing a brand new 4 Berth Caravan right now would take away from the vacation savings. Why not start with a used one? You might be surprised at what you can get for less.

As you shop for a 4 Berth Caravan that is right for you and your family, there are some things you should look for. This is true when you buy anything that is used, although used does not mean beat up and ugly.

Here are some things to look for when purchasing a used 4 Berth Caravan. The biggest problem you are likely to find is rust, but keep in mind it is easy to fix even if you do find it. Check the vehicle all over for signs of rust.

It won't matter where you go, but it could matter how you get there. It won't matter if it's new, or if it's used. As long as you get there, everyone is happy and you will be happier not listening to the fighting in the backseat.

Buying a used 4 Berth Caravan is simple. If you have every bought any sort of vehicle in used condition, then you know to check each one you look at completely. If you see anything major such as leaks, then move on to the next one.

You definitely want the best price you can get so suggest a price much lower than the price you want to pay or the price they are asking. You may end up paying what you had in mind, or you may get a 4 Berth Caravan for cheaper than you imagined.

Tony Tang has made more brilliant posts on the topic of 4 Berth Caravan, which he is very passionate about. For more news on the work 4 Berth Caravan See Here Www.4BerthCaravan.Com

RV Travel Trends

RV sales numbers are staying strong. The worst of the recession appears to be in the past. As RV dealers face summer sales, generally their peak sales time, they are stocking up with new RV models.

The travel trailer has taken in the industry by storm as many are looking for a cheaper alternative to RV travel, but more protection than a traditional tent. Those in their early twenties and thirties are driving the trend towards lightweight environmentally friendly vehicles.

It seems the younger generation has started a buying trend of lightweight travel trailers and fuel-efficient vehicles. Baby boomers on the other hand are still spending on more expensive models such as Class A RVs and Fifth Wheel Campers. No matter what the age, it seems as if more people are returning to the outdoors and doing it in RV style.

Also picking up interest this year are park model RVs. Park models basically provide many of the conveniences of home but offer the same access to the outdoors as an RV. A lot of families are using park models for trips when they don't have an RV, or want a little extra comfort and convenience on the road. The companies producing these models are growing as steadily as parks are purchasing them.

Record numbers of people seem to be hitting the road and visiting National Parks. In June alone, in excess of 700,000 people headed to Yellowstone National Park. July tends to be the busiest month for National Parks so visitors will probably swarm the parks in July.

As oil continues to spill from the Gulf, a significant number of travelers are re-routing their vacations to avoid what may be contaminated beaches and waters. To help travelers, there are numerous web sites that offer up-to-the-minute reports on what areas have been affected and which ones haven't. Some resorts even offer a 100% money back guarantee if their beaches become contaminated before or during your stay. Beaches are the epitome of summer fun, so check out the south and the coastal cities for a great vacation.

If the warm weather is pushing you to cooler climates, the mountains offer refuge from overwhelming heat waves. Snow is still apparent at higher elevations and wildflowers are blanketing fields and valleys. Places like Rocky Mountain National Park and Glacier National Park offer great mountain camping and cool evening air.

No matter your style of vehicle or destination, there is summer adventure awaiting you. The RVing industry has held strong for 100 years. Celebrate the centennial year of RVing by hitting the road and exploring with your new RV, Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler, Travel Trailer, Pop-up Camper or more.

Presents For RV Enthusiasts

Those that love their RVs often like being reminded of their RV travels when at home. While many friends and family members struggle with what to get as a gift for an RV traveler, there are a number of options which offer fun, memorable gifts that will show you understand and appreciate their lifestyle. RV art decorates walls, trees and bodies.

Below are a few suggestions for what to get the RV enthusiast in your life:

1. Vintage Trailer Art by Paige Bridges: Bridges captures the innocent beauty of RV Travel. Her images hearken back to the days when the roads were less crowded and there was still a lot of unexplored territory, yet they are still accessible to today's travelers and may raise a chuckle or simply a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Bridges has been able to bring the RV travel world to life.

2. The book Mobile Mansions by Douglas Keister captures some of the more interesting moments in RV travel. It hearkens back to the beginning of RV travel and illustrates the mansions that have hit the road in black and white and color photography. One great image was that of a mobile church. There's plenty to see in this book that chronicles the spirit and extravagance of RVing.

3. RV Jewelry: For women and girls who love keeping mementos of their journeys, an RV charm is a great way to record the incredible explorations they have had. Charms are available in sterling silver, gold, painted versions and more. Some are traditional charms, while others have been carved out of beads.

4. Fine Art Photography: Fine art photography depicting images of places the RV enthusiast has visited. Think Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell. Not only will these images bring back the awe and beauty of nature, but they will bring back that moment and time in the person's life when they caught their first glimpse of Yosemite Valley.

5. If your RV enthusiast prefers sitting outside even when at home, an RV birdfeeder is a great way to attract the call of the wild in a backyard setting. These tiny replicas of RVs house feathered creatures. Watching the inhabitants of RV birdfeeders is a great way of passing an evening.

RV Art Gallery is one place to start looking for great RV gifts. These gifts will light up the faces of RV enthusiasts and make you as much a part of their memories as the gift is. National Parks often have galleries that sell art representing their park. No matter what you choose, your RV enthusiast will remember you as fondly as their travel memories.
