1) Yes it can be very cold during winter. I'm from Adelaide, and its usually around the 10 degrees... Sydney is warmer, Brisbane and the rest of Queensland is still relatively warm through winter - mid 20's for the most.

2) This depends on what you consider expensive! If you stay in a caravan park, then you can expect to pay a bit, if you stay in national parks then its a few dollars for a permit to pitch a tent... But in general its not overly expensive to camp.

3) Kangaroo Island is even colder, but no it doesn't snow. Certain areas are pretty windy so bring a thick jacket.

4) Australia is lucky to have 2 super cheap internal airlines - Jetstar and Virgin Blue. Both of these airlines offer flights between capitals under $100 one way often, and are usually always under $200 unless you travel in peak times.

5) There are hundreds of national parks in Australia... You're best to check the tourist information in the state that you are in, but during winter most of the national parks in Victoria or South Australia get pretty cold (and if in the hot outback, very cold at night!)

Nonetheless as a 18 year old West Australian, i'll do my best to give you an answer for each one.

1. The Climate of Australia entirely depends upon where you are. You are correct that June-August is our winter so you will find temperatures to be much lower. Again it all depends upon where are. The further south will give you colder climates (Adelaide, Margaret River, Melbourne, Tasmania etc.). However further north such as the Kimberlys, Darwin, Cairns will give you a much more warmer climate. You also need to understand that further inland will lead you to deserts and this will limit winds and cause excruciating heat. Finally the northern parts of Australia are home to our rain-forest areas and this provides strong levels of humidity. Sadly you'll find it much more difficult to find warm weather in winter. However I suggest you go North (Darwin, Cairns, Broome) and there you can immerse yourself in nature and the warmer climates (:

3. South Australia (also meaning Kangaroo Island) enjoys hot dry summers with relatively mild nights and cool winters, with most rainfall occurring during May to August. 5. One of the most beautiful national parks in the entire of Australia is Kakadu National Park. Situated in the Northern Terriotry it is a wetland eco-system home to crocodiles, playtpus', snakes, kangaroos, possums, perentiers, various lizards/frogs and much more. Zoo-Wise I suggest Australia Zoo created by Stever Irwin. Every State in Australia has it's own Zoo and various Wildlife Sanctuarys for local fauna.

If you want to camp overnight, there is a pub called the Anchor in Hillfarrance (just off exit 26 of the M5) where you can park and stay, but if you are trailing a caravan, you won't be able to get over a certain very small bridge. There is also a nice pub in Brandford on Tone - just before that bridge. It has a small garden, and you can walk down to the river. It's a bit of a way off the motorway, but there is a lovely pub called The Trout Inn at Bickleigh It's nearish to Tiverton. Have a safe drive and a lovely holiday.

Agreed. Caravan is hella confusing, even after reading the instruction manual several times over. Instead of trying to really understand the game, the best thing I've been able to find is this very handy tutorial:

My husband and I are travelling around Australia and while we haven't been to many many camp grounds - there are two caravan parks/camp grounds I could nominate - 1. Mitchell Caravan Park on the river at Mitchell in Outback Queensland, lovely location, great managers and they have a central fire pit which makes it a very sociable friendly place to stay - Honey the performing horse even popped in to entertain us and some nights they have camp fire sing alongs.
2. Barn Hill Station, Broome - not a typical caravan park as its 9kms off the highway on red dirt road but its located right on the beach - the amazing red dirt meets white sand and beautiful clear blue sea, when you walk along the beach you feel like you are the only person in the world. The fishing is awesome and while we were there Ron & Velma (and their dog Tiger) were managing the ground and were lovely. They have happy hour each evening and even their own bowling green.

It's also to do with insurance purposes, a lot of people who own caravan parks and independent holiday accommodation are insured for people under 25.
I tried to book a holiday cottage from this couple when I was 22, at university and going with my husband, she told me on the phone that she can't rent it out to under 25s. A lot of places are like that, including major holiday park companies, places like Haven and Parkdean wouldn't rent out a caravan to you either.

I know Travelodge do, not sure if there's any in Skegness. Do a google search for hotels in the area, it'll say how old you need to be to book in their terms & conditions. You should be fine if an over 18 is booking the holiday and paying for it.

Is this a static van or tourer? Usually static caravan sites here in the UK have facilities for washing clothes somewhere on site. Many touring caravan sites also. You would have to pay for using the machines. Touring? You should check with the site before you book your touring caravan in.
Small washing machines that can be tucked away when not in use can be purchased for caravans.I have not used one myself but Towsure has a website with a video to demonstrate.

Parts stores don't have the resources needed to check the relays on that van but you can try replacing it if its blowing fuses like that its more than likely the relay causing it or dead short in a wire leading to one of the lights on it,good luck on it,the control module may have went all the way out on on it now, have good and safe x-mas.

You do not say which part of France you will be visiting. Some regions are busier than others. Generally August is the very busiest time because many French people go on holiday at that period, but you have to bear in mind that school terms in Northern Europe finish earlier than in the UK so you may also be competing for spaces with other caravaners from Holland or Germany in July as well, depending on where you are going and particularly at the seaside. However since you are not fussed about full holiday parks, there is a vast quantity of simpler sites that will receive you for one or two nights without booking in the countryside. Even basic sites have to meet certain requirements by law so they should satisfy your needs.
I suggest that you plan an itinerary and investigate what there is in the way of sites before you leave so that you do not chase around for sites when you get there and, if you are going to a busy area, then do reserve a space. All you have to do is Google "camping sites in France" and a vast choice will present yourself to you. It will give you an idea of facilities, costs etc...

I liked that the meals were included, since this was my first time and I would have had no idea where to eat. I think eating with a tour is much safer than chancing it on your own. I don't have experience with other tours, but I was very satisfied with the Caravan one I took.

Be careful of the water, including ice! I don't like ice in my drinks, but most people forget this when in Mexico.

We tour but always use a full awning...you can always get porch awnings at a caravan dealers...usually they have a second hand section that you can choose from...it's where we got both our awnings from....
