6. Practice safty first, no matter if it is your first time towing or driving a large Class A RV. It is a good idea to take classes and learn before getting on the road.

Family Vacations In RV Rentals

Even if you do not own an RV, you can still camp without roughing it by using RV rentals. These rentals allow you to spend your vacation in one of the many scenic campgrounds located across the United Sates without having the expense of owning your own RV.

For a little more than renting a car and for less than renting a hotel room, you can rent an RV that your family can travel in together. Rental RVs are available that sleep three, five or seven people. The longer you keep the rental RV, the less you pay per night. No matter where you travel, you do not have to worry about a clean bed, because you are bringing the bed with you.

The Rental RV is a great way for a person who is considering the purchase of an RV to try out the lifestyle without the expense of purchasing the RV first.

At the great rates that are available to rent an RV, why tie all of your money up into one of these vehicles that you only plan to use one or two weeks per year. The rental RV allows someone else to be responsible for all the maintenance. All you need to do is schedule your pick up and drop off date and the RV will be ready when you are.

Rental RVs are great when you fly into a new area. Pick up the RV for a week or a month. When you are ready to go home, drop it off and hop back onto your plane. You will be able to spend the majority of the vacation at your destination rather than on the road.

Why not use a rental RV for a one way trip. Pick up the RV at home, drive across the country and drop it off. You get to fly back home and someone else can drive all the distance.

If you want to buy your very own RV to travel in, hurry and check out these travel trailer auctions or these online motorhome auctions. This article, Family Vacations In RV Rentals is released under a creative commons attribution licence.

Are you travelling now or plan to take off soon? Travelling in a caravan or motor home to discover all the wonderful places around Australia is an amazing adventure. Have you had the experience of trying to get TV reception in different places? It can be really easy and then it can be almost impossible. Is this what you have noticed? In a nutshell: one seasoned traveller of 30 years told me this, "If you have an antenna with a booster, you have to make sure power is getting to the booster to make it work properly". I couldn't believe how easy it was.

It is much better to solve the problem while you are travelling rather than wait till you reach home months or years later. We ALWAYS like to hear from travellers using the Saturn Antenna. And there is nothing more disappointing for us to have someone call and tell us, "We have been travelling for 9 months and the antenna has never worked." There is nothing more frustrating for you than to have to put up with no TV reception.

We were travelling past two lucky customers. We paused and checked out what was happening. One was a 12 volt problem. That means no power was going to the antenna. If someone is telling us the antenna is not working this is one of our first checkpoints.

THERE IS AN INSPECTION HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE ANTENNA THAT IS COVERED BY A BLACK RUBBER BUNG. WHEN THAT IS REMOVED AND THE ANTENNA IS HOOKED UP PROPERLY, A GREEN LED LIGHT WILL BE VISIBLE. IF THERE IS NO GREEN LIGHT, THERE IS NO POWER GETTING TO THE ANTENNA. (All antennas made since May 2010 have a clear inspection hole - NO rubber bung).

12VOLT MUST GET TO THE SATURN ANTENNA FOR IT TO WORK!
It is then necessary to track back where the 12volt is failing - the plugs on the cable attached to the antenna? The cable itself? The TV sockets on the van? The power supply? The 240volt point or the 12volt point? Each of these points needs to be checked. Once you have tracked where the fault lies and repaired that point, the antenna will once again start working.

Happy Travelling!

How To Store A Caravan

Although you can use your caravan in the winter, many people choose not to do so. How you store your caravan over the winter is important. If you do it right it can be ready for immediate use in the summer without hours of preparation.

Make sure that your caravan is spotlessly clean before closing it up for the winter. The shower, toilet, oven and fridge, in particular, need to be thoroughly cleaned and wiped dry. To avoid mould in the fridge, prop the door open. Drain all water from your caravan to avoid frost damage. Turn off the gas to all appliances.

Whilst having your caravan outside your house is practical when you are using it every week, local bye-laws sometimes dictate that it cannot be stored there year round. This means finding someone to store it for you. A good company will usually pick the caravan up from you and bring it back to you after the winter. In addition, they will get the caravan serviced or repaired for you whilst they have it in their care.

Try to find a company that will keep your caravan indoors. It will be completely protected from the elements and it is more secure.

Should you be forced to use an outside storage company make sure that you choose one, which has on site security and CCTV. Being able to check your caravan on a regular basis is important when using outside storage. Caravans can spring leaks in the winter. You also need to check it has not been broken into. Thieves target caravans in the winter. Do not store anything valuable in your caravan.

However, you choose to store your caravan, take the opportunity that this period of inactivity gives you to carry out maintenance on your caravan. Get it serviced, repaired and replace worn fixtures or bring them up to date.

Caravan Insurance y/n?

Is it a legal requirement to have caravan insurance to tow it on the roads, I know to repalce it etc you need insurance but just to tow an old van for one weekend a year is it worth it, other than to be legal on the roads.

i always assumed, that whilst it was attached to your car, your car insurance covered it! Same with horsebox or trailer. Check your car insurance policy. I HOPE I AM IN THE RIGHT HERE!!
